Fig Tree Layout (2007-12-23) The years have brought change, some welcome and some not. Looking back at my old ego site this month, it didn't feel as "me" as it once did. Time for a layout change!
The leaf-art is from the fig tree west of my home. Yummy fruit this year. The birds agree. You can tell because they ate all the fruit I didn't get to first. Well, actually they ate about a quarter of the fruit. The rest they just kind of splattered around.
The green background for the pullquotes is a photo of a tight-wrought cluster of cypress trunks east of my home. And the canvas...well. Art is a growing influence in my life again, so it seems apropos.
I make stuff. How I go about doing that has varied over the years, but usually it's either as an artist or a programmer. For me, traditional art and computer programming have a similar appeal; they are means of imbuing silent thought with existence. After that process, others can interact with what began as thoughts. How nifty is that?
This web site is mostly related to art and programming, as those are two of the less ephemeral things I do. There are other pursuits, but at the moment they lend themselves more to doing than describing.
