Well, I don't know about that. I think the faction forums should still only be viewable by those who have PC's as members. I mean, I won't have PC's in all factions and I don't want to read what is going on in the others (or be tempted). I want some element of surprise. What would be nice is to have like a story or timeline of Folderol events posted under the Campfire or other suitable forum. This would be the relevant general information that pretty much all PC's would be aware of. Then any special movements or actions/reactions by various factions could be discussed with the DM's so that it all fits with the overall world design. Based on that information, the aforementioned timeline could be posted on a semi-regular basis. That would make everything seem more "alive" and evolving.
