This page is dedicated to a role-playing game based on the world of the movie The Matrix. There are two versions available on this site: The first, The Matrix RPG D6 Classic, is a direct adaptation of the Star Wars Second Edition Revised and Expanded Rules (now out of print) published by West End Games. The second, The Matrix D6 Legend, is a success-based system founded on the rules laid out in West End Games' DC Universe.

SPECIAL NOTE (March 2004):
West End Games, the owner of the D6 System, is preparing to release several new products in 2004. These will include Core Rule Books for D6 Space, Fantasy and Adventure (pulp-style heroics). For more information about these brand-new products, visit West End Games. These Rule Books will add a great deal to your Matrix campaign (or any D6-based game you shoose to run.

Also, Final Sword Productions has produced Psibertroopers, which has psionics and technology that you might find useful in your game. Visit their site to learn about the Psibertroopers books and other products.

ANNOUNCEMENT (3/10/04):
I've created a new Yahoo Group for this game. Members can discuss the rules, add new ones, and contribute and/or download resources (character sheets, maps, etc.). Most of the images at this site are from the The Matrix website (they have a whole section of comics based on the movie) and fan sites. The official site is pretty nifty, so you should check it out. There are a large number of Matrix fansites, some of which are listed in my Links section.

Also, this is a free RPG and I'm not trying to make any money on it (so don't sue me!). I just had an idea and few hours to kill and cobbled the thing together. There are a ton of free RPG's on the web, including many others that are based on The Matrix. I've set up links to some of those as well.

UPDATES
November 2003
I've updated the game to include information from The Matrix: Revolutions. There wasn't a great deal to add, so I've mainly updated The Machines and The Resistance sections. I also updated some equipment (such as the APU exoskeleton and the hoverships--who knew they had guns??). Finally, I've uploaded a new version of the rules in Word 2000 format. See the Downloads section.

May 2003
I've included new information gathered from The Matrix: Reloaded. The following is a brief list of additions in this update:

Characters (D6 Classic, D6 Legend): Added new rules and Templates for Autonomous Programs
Skills (D6 Classic, D6 Legend): Added normal skills (Faith, Operate Exoskeleton, and a new Computer Programming) and Matrix Skills (Clone, Phasing, Manipulation, Flight).
Matrix Abilities (D6 Classic, D6 Legend):: (Adhesion, Assembly, Clone, Disassembly, Integration, Flight, Manipulation, Radial Sense, and more!).
Equipment (D6 Classic, D6 Legend): Updated the robotic Squids, and added the Zion Exoskeleton and a new category of Matrix Programs.
The Machines (D6 Classic, D6 Legend): new information about the nature of the Matrix and their mechanisms of control.
The Resistance (D6 Classic, D6 Legend): new insight into the creation of Zion and its society and government.
