¡Jumper! (2008-08-14) There's a new link in the nav under Breadcrumbs! In polishing some programming skills, I came up with a video game for Windows computers. Give it a try!
Grape Layout (2008-08-10) I thought to myself, I feel kinda ultramarine. So I redid my web site to feel like I do! Well, like I did the other day. Now I'm feeling more like deep purple. Close enough.
The grape leaf image on the left is from the grape vine growing happily outside my kitchen.
Fig Tree Layout (2007-12-23) The years have brought change, some welcome and some not. Looking back at my old ego site this month, it didn't feel as "me" as it once did. Time for a layout change!
The leaf-art is from the fig tree west of my home. Yummy fruit this year. The birds agree. You can tell because they ate all the fruit I didn't get to first. Well, actually they ate about a quarter of the fruit. The rest they just kind of splattered around.
The green background for the pullquotes is a photo of a tight-wrought cluster of cypress trunks east of my home. And the canvas...well. Art is a growing influence in my life again, so it seems apropos.
Folderol (2004/02/18) After DMing Neverwinter Nights sessions for 9 months, I've turned to creating a persistent world with a few talented friends. The world of Folderol is live now, with a growing community of players.
The zerglings are on the shelf (2003/06/17) I really enjoyed the Monday Star Craft get togethers, but it's time for a break. I have updated the StarCraft page to reflect this.
Neverwinter Nights (2003/02/25) This game has been a lot of fun. Adventure Construction Set for the Apple II was awesome, but arrived before its time. Now that it's the 21st century, the right conditions finally exist for this kind of game. I have built my own adventure, which is available for download at NW Vault. NWN's an unstable, finicky piece of software, and I have complaints about the way it's put together, but I'm glad it's here.
Illustration Portfolio (2002/11/22) A few recent pieces.
Map update (2002/11/21) Bugfix on Demolition, a Brood War map.
Star Craft update (2002/11/12) More info about my Star Craft Club, plus a great new Brood War map!
Button, job, JavaScript (2002/09/02) There's a new button link below the left nav. Niko-Niko.net is a very cool site by the prolific illustrator, web developer and graphic designer Emichan! I've also updated my resume. I'm happy to say I'm now working for Excellent Game Company as Game Designer. Hoody hoo!!
While I was doing all this, I realized that Quote of the Moment wasn't acting gracefully on some Linux browsers. I've put in some JavaScript as a work around.
I've also ripped out the old ExtremeTracking mechanism. They've got nifty reports, but the JavaScript was goofing up Internet Explorer 6.
Online Portfolio (2002/06/27) It's about gosh darn time I put one of these up! Some ads and icons to see. Perhaps screenshots of some websites I've done would be nice.
Quotes update (2002/05/19) The front-page Quote of the Moment is now more dynamic with XML-feed coolness and an email link. Updating the quotes will be much easier. I had to sacrifice Flash 4 compatibility. But hey, the latest version is Flash 6, so 4's getting pretty old.
New Domain! (2002/04/26) www.dansego.com! How cool is that?
Maintenance (2002/03/22) Fixed a broken link, changed some dated information, and set up some redirects at obsolete Tripod URLs.
Saviours From The Stars (2002/01/18) A brand new look for the old web site! Check it out!
No more ads! (2002/01/17) It's a new year and a new server. Teacat is looking like a great host, and no more icky banner ads! Whoopee!
Layout change (2001/12/18) Text areas made narrower, background graphic removed and minor text style adjustments have been made to improve readability.
New Flash quote of the moment (2001/12/09) The quote of the moment utility to the right is now done with Flash and ActionScript instead of JavaScript. This allows more consistency across browsers than the old dHTML route.
Amerigo 2 update (2001/12/08) Version 2.1 features a clearer briefing and a better onboard surveillance system.
Smaller top banner (2001/12/06) The smaller top banner should make more of the page readable without having to scroll.
Internet Explorer 5 for Macintosh stinks (2001/12/06) To compensate for that, I have adjusted the nifty-new left nav. When one uses JavaScript to absolutely position something, one would think all browsers would absolutely position that thing. But nOoOoOo. I do give the browser credit for having a cute interface, though.
New Navigation (2001/12/05) I've worked up a cascading nav menu for the site and installed it to the left. Try clicking on the folders to open and close submenus. Aside from looking cooler than the old nav, this script remains happy in a lot more browsers.
Amerigo 2 update (2001/12/05) the original kicked heinie, but the new version features a couple minor improvements.
New Star Craft map (2001/11/19) Amerigo 2, inspired by the coolest cutscene in Star Craft.
Hello World (long ago) Being a pretty tech-oriented guy, I figured it's about time I made a web homestead for myself. I've been puttin' up sites for my hobbies, my employers, my projects...but never one dedicated to Dan.
So here 'tis. A central location which will eventually be a place for all things Dan. Enjoy!
Oh! About the ads: Tripod pretty much kicks fanny when it comes to free hosting. Gotta love a host that allows Perl scripting (even if it doesn't allow socket connections). If only they allowed me to place their banner ad more specifically in my layout.
